Family and Friends Of WSU Women’s Tennis
The Winona State University Women’s tennis team had a very busy Fall Season with multiple team scrimmages to get our team ready for the upcoming Spring Season. Last spring, the Warriors had another tremendous season finishing with a 16-5 (9-2 NSIC) record. The NSIC Tennis tournament was another successful event with the warriors making it to the finals, beating University of Sioux Falls and Southwest MN State, before losing in the finals to a very strong Augustana team! The hard work of our athletes both on and off the courts was further recognized at season’s end as 4 of our student-athletes earned All-NSIC team honors for singles and doubles and 6 warriors made the NSIC All-Academic Team with 1 player receiving the Myles Brand All-Academic Award. The 2023 edition of the Winona State Women’s tennis program appears to be poised to make yet another successful run in the NSIC Conference. Returning 3 starters from last year’s squad, we have 3 Sophomores and 6 Freshmen student/athletes ready to meet the challenge in front of them and making this another strong team for the Warriors!
All Donations Go Directly Into Our Budget
One of the most important elements to support our team’s success is the need to raise funds for our programs operational budget, including travel and hotel costs for our WSU players. In trying to remain among the NSIC elite programs, we have become more reliant on fund raising to offset the costs of our team’s needs. No funding is used for scholarship or recruiting. 100% of the money raised goes directly into the WSU Women’s Tennis Team program and operational budget for this season. This includes travel arrangements, housing/hotels, competition fees, necessary equipment and uniforms. Significant costs are incurred seeking competition during the Spring Break trip to Orlando, FL.
